The Board of the San Clemente Historical Society and the City of San Clemente, Calfornia have joined hands to once again participate in this global event. Where? Top of Avenida Del Mar When? This Saturday evening, beginning at 7:30pm What? A Candlelight Procession down Avenida Del Mar 8:30-9:30pm Earth Hour is designed to illuminate the world on the importance of protecting our precious planet. There will be live entertainment, surfing celebrities and even a surprise star from the TV show, American Idol. This is a fun filled opportunity to join with fellow San Clementeans in a family event that will once again send the message around the world, that together…we can heal our planet. And remember…*historical preservation is a vital component of living green. The demolition of even one small historic property that ends up in a landfill negates the recycling of 1,344,000 aluminum cans. So you see, even without consideration of the cultural, historical, architectural or economic benefits of preserving our heritage, historical preservation still makes sense! Join with us, as we join with the world… in celebrating Earth Hour!
