| I met Myoung at the San Clemente Village Art Walk and was immediately drawn into her painting of the "Running Horse" ... her use of color and delicate brush strokes gave her paintings a vibrant illusion of light and movement. Introducing, Myoung-Ja Minn Park
Myoung was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and comes from a tradition of talented artists. Her father was an established architect who also pursued watercolor after retirement. After graduating Seoul National University with a major in sculpture, she taught art to high school students. She continued her studies after moving to the U.S. at the University of Colorado, the College of William and Mary and the Smithsonian Institute in a variety of disciplines including pottery, drawing, oil painting, jewelry design and pastel. She also sculpted and painted numerous porcelain collector dolls for Landy Ann Dolls in Williamsburg, VA for over ten years.
Myoung has since rediscovered her passion for watercolor. She especially enjoys the dynamic quality of the medicum which allows her to show delicacy and boldness at the same time. As a result her paintgs are fresh and cheerful,simple yet expressive.
We are very fortunate that Myoung is now living in San Juan Capistrano along the South Orange County Coast and teaching watercolor classes at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center and Adult School.
Myoung is happy to create custom works of art for you, including portraits and pet portraits, in a variety of media including watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel.
